Members of the Long Island Sound Chapter of the CWOA and the New England Branch of the Coast Guard Enlisted Association washed and folded comforters and sheets today as part of their annual linen donation drive at the Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn. For the past three years the LIS Chapter has collected used linens from cadets departing the Academy that no longer want their bedding items and would normally just throw them away. The linens are sorted, washed, and then donated to regional shelters. Last year the volunteers processed and distributed over 750 comforters and sheet sets.
