In the morning hours of Wednesday October 5th a van-load of Coasties descended upon a vacant lot in downtown New Haven. By the time the day was done, what had been only a bare foundation stood transformed. Chapter members Jim Guerrette, Todd Mann, Randy Rice and Chris Schilling, along with members of the local chapter of the Coast Guard Enlisted Association and Sector Long Island Sound Officer's Assocation "turned to" and brought home ownership one step closer to reality for a local family. The team installed floor joists, laid the plywood subfloor and put up the cellar access door. As usual, the job supervisor was amazed at the amount of work the group was able to accomplish.
